FAQ... This page will answer questions commonly asked by students and parents.
What do I do if I forget my pencil or paper?
Borrow one from a friend or see if any are available to borrow from the dog. I will not have any to loan you and the school no longer has pencils or paper for students use.
What do I do when I come in the room?
1.Sharpen pencils (if you need to). You may not sharpen pencils during instruction time.
2.Get your supplies out. Begin 'Bellwork'.
Once you enter the classroom you have chosen to follow the rules and sit down. If you plan on visiting with classmates stay in the hallway but don't be tardy.
What do I do if I need to leave the room?
You may not leave during the lesson or while we are working together as a group.
If you are working independently and it is an emergency you may go.
What do I do if I am tardy?
Apologize and then find out what you missed. Three or more tardies will result in a referral.
Where do I put completed papers?
Classwork and Homework go in the upright baskets on the file cabinet by the door. (Pay attention and make sure it is in the correct basket.)
Where can I find assignments when I come back from an absence?
Talk to me on your return and I will give you the work you need to make up. It is your responsibility to see what you missed and make it up.
What do I do if I finish my work early?
Read a book, make sure all of your work is caught up, peruse the newspapers and magazines on the shelves or work on other classwork. You will not be allowed to talk as it disrupts those still trying to read and complete their work.
What do I do if I need extra help, have a personal concern?
Come see me before school or during study hall. Don't come to class claiming you couldn't do your work if you haven't tried to see me either of these times.
What do I do if I forget to do my homework?
Make sure you don't forget again and that you complete all of your homework for the rest of the week. If you have a homework pass you may use that. I do not take late work.
What do I do before I leave the room at the end of class?
Tidy up your area, check for dropped pencils, paper. Wait for dismissal from me and quietly leave. I dismiss the class, not the bell.
